You learn and you get better

That’s right. It applies to anything that you may do. Whether it is writing, pickleball, aviation, golf, applied statistics, or even baking those tart things with the yummy apple filling. I started out doing my own covers. I didn’t really like them so I started hiring them out to pros. Some of the pros had really good covers that I liked. I went back to creating my own covers because I wanted control, but I learned from the pros.

Same thing with my writing. But I learned from the pros well before I ever published my first work. And I’ll be honest, like anything else, you just get better with practice. I think that in life, you can never rest on your laurels. Once you do that, you become complacent, out of practice and unhappy. Or maybe that is the ‘age graceful’ thing. No, Bruce Highland will NEVER age gracefully, nor will I.
